BNSF and AML Partnerships in the Pines/Trent Crossing

Currently, Barstow City is in the process of building a new BNSF train yard. The proposed project will provide an important improvement to the rail infrastructure of Barstow. The project will also increase the capacity of the track to keep up with the increase in freight traffic through Barstow.

BNSF announced six new BNSF certified sites, which are the ideal locations to develop customer relationships on the railroad's system. BNSF Certified Sites are identified through an exhaustive selection process, which includes a thorough review of the infrastructure at the site as well as local economic benefits and community engagement. BNSF customers who construct at an BNSF-certified location can cut down on up to nine months in construction time due to the top-of-the-line preparation and the amount of investment a site has received.

The Pines/Trent crossing is among the most frequent rail lines in America with an average of 65 BNSF freight trains and two AmTRAK passenger trains that travel through it each day.
