How to Replace an audi replacement key cost uk G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Mitsubishi-Motors-New.pngIn this video Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is situated on the outside of the transmission just above the flywheel gear. It sends a message to the ECU through the grey wire T55/49 and then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

1. Engine Speed Sensor

Located on the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends a signal to ECU pin T55/49 via a grey wire. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an indication to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to link the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu has to know when the crankshaft reached TDC and also the location of the camshaft in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails the ECU will throw an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. However, the code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It can be a bit difficult to test because there are several pins on the connector, and each one has different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read around 1000 ohms if the sensor is at full operation. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have issues with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll, i experienced an abrupt drop in power as if the engine was running out of gas or injectors aren't firing at all. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the 4th one was dry. I placed a tissue over each hole in the injector and when I turn the engine on without sparks, the three that have gazoline pop right out. The fourth one remains shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is in another location.

I also tried to reset the PID without success. The car can start if the G28 is disconnected and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in however it has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c, Audi Key Replacement Near Me - G28-Car-Key-Solutions35496.Robhasawiki.Com, even if I unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bars but the actual pressure is zero.

I don't know what to do. I believe that I've all other possibilities out. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please chime in! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter functions similarly to the G4 sender and both work on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find the spare in a salvage shop or parts store. It is simple to test them - simply put your DMM into resistance mode and test the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing upwards). They should be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B, AAN, ABY and ADU) engines have an ECU that must know the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding fuel injector timing etc. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to achieve this. If you encounter a problem with either of these sensors, the diagnostic scanner will show codes that could cause the engine shutting down.

A malfunctioning G28 sensor could cause an inaccurate speed counter for your gearbox and a gearbox which shifts more quickly than normal, and/or an unfire when in gear. If you are experiencing any of these issues it is likely your sensor is failing and needs replacing. They are cheap and easy-to-find particularly when they're a Bosch sensor like ours. Alternatively, GM's version of this part would be an option.

5. Tachometer

A damaged engine sensor could cause a myriad of issues within your vehicle. It's a vital component of your audi car key replacement's transmission, because it communicates to the ECU about how fast or slow the car's crankshaft is rotating. This sensor could cause the transmission to fail and other components of the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear and transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 through a grey wire. The ECU uses this signal to control the amount of fuel and boost, as well as timig. It also sends it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can test the sensor for failure by checking continuity between it and the tachometer, between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection on pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) and between T6a/1 and Audi Tt Key Replacement the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see around 1000 ohms of resistance between those two pins. This is a standard part across the audi replacement key fob 80 100, 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC until the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU, so the best parts could be found in wrecking yards.
