1. Engine Speed Sensor

If this sensor fails the ECU will show a P00160 code which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper timing chain. However the code will not be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing is a bit tricky as there are two different connector pins, and they serve different purposes however the best way to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms when the sensor is operating at its maximum. Check for signs of coolant, or oil in the connector bay if there are issues with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had an abrupt drop in power like the engine is out of gas or the injectors are not firing anymore. I took out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were soaked with gasoline and the fourth was unclean. When i crank the engine without sparks i put tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 that were drenched in gazoline jump out but the 4th stay shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I found zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset PID without success. The car can start if the G28 is not plugged in and runs fine when it is plugged in, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for the coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value that is -49c even after unplugging it. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.

I'm not sure what to do, but i believe that i've ruled out everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump of the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 and both are used in the 80, 100, 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a junkyard or from a parts store.
