How to Replace an replacement audi key cost G28 Engine Speed Sensor

In this video, Charles the Humble Mechanic shows how to replace the G28 engine speed sensor. This sensor is located at the edge of transmission just above the flywheel gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire (T55/49) which is then sent to the tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The grey wire is situated on the outside cost of audi key replacement the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU uses this information to regulate fuel and boost. It also sends an alert to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used to connect the G40 Camshaft position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can activate spark and injectors accordingly.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and possibly indicating the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. However the code will not be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

Testing is a bit challenging as there are two different connector pins and they serve different purposes however the best method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read approximately 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. Check for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll, i experienced a big cut in power like the engine is running out of gas or injectors aren't firing at all. I took out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were drenched in gasoline and the 4th was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the ones with gazoline jump right out. The 4th one stays shut. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30 and 48/55. I found 0ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

Porsche-New-2023.pngI also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car can start if the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in, but still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is zero.

I'm not certain what to do, but i think i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is the same as the G4 and both function in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a wrecking yard or from a parts store. It is simple to test them - put your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector end up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector). They must be infinite Ohms.

4. ECU

The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY ADU) engines needs to be aware of the position and speed the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of fuel injectors, etc. To do this, it uses a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you are experiencing issues with either of these, the diagnostic scanner will show the codes that could trigger an engine shutdown.

Some of the signs of a malfunctioning G28 sensor Services include an inaccurate rev counter replacement key for audi a4 the gearbox the gears are shifting faster than normal, and/or a misfire when in gear. If you have any of these problems, it is most likely that your sensor is failing and should be replaced. They're cheap and easy to find, especially in the case of an Bosch unit like ours. Alternately, GM's version this part would be an excellent choice.

5. Tachometer

A failing engine speed sensor could be the cause of a slew of issues with your car. It is a crucial part of the audi tt replacement key's transmission since it relays information to the ECU about how fast or slow the vehicle's crankshaft is turning. If this sensor fails, it will affect the performance of the transmission as well as the other car's components.

The G5 engine sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, over the flywheel ring. It transmits an electrical signal through an uncolored wire to the ECU pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate fuel and boost, and also timig. It also transmits it to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster. You can check the sensor for any failure by checking the continuity between it and the tachometer. You can also check continuity between ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection via pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should observe around 1000 ohms of resistance between those two pins. This is the same across the audi key shell 80-100-200-RS2 model, ranging from the 1985 MC all the way up to the 1997 UrS An and 1995 RS2 DU You may also find good ones in wrecking yards.
